Touchline helps youth soccer clubs record player evaluations and write progress reports for families. It is a product of L&E Media Group, Milan, Michigan.
Who uses it
Club directors and coaches have accounts. Players don't have accounts and never use the app. Families can answer an anonymous survey without an account.
What we store
Club, team and coach names; coach and director email addresses; player names, jersey numbers and positions; the ratings, notes and reports coaches enter. We don't collect player birthdates, photos, addresses or contact details.
Family surveys
Family survey answers are anonymous. We don't ask for names or emails. To limit duplicate answers we keep a one-way scrambled code based on the connection and a cookie in the browser. Results show only after at least 3 families on a team answer, and comments are shown in random order.
Who can see it
A coach sees only the teams they were invited to. The club director sees every team in their club, plus club-wide averages that don't name any player. Other clubs can't see your club's data.
L&E Media Group runs the service. To do that we can see account-level details for each club: the club's name, the director's name and email, how many teams, players, coaches and reports it has, and when it was last used. We also keep the database and daily backups of it so data can be restored after a problem. We don't sell data, show ads, or share it with anyone except the providers named on this page.
Report writing
When a coach asks for a report, that player's first name, ratings and the coach's notes are sent to Anthropic's Claude API to draft the text. Practice plans and survey summaries are drafted the same way from team ratings and survey answers. Anthropic does not use API data to train its models by default. Nothing goes to a family until the coach has read it.
Where it runs
The app and its database are hosted with Railway. The app loads fonts from Google Fonts and two code libraries from cdnjs (Cloudflare). Like any website you visit, those providers see your device's internet address when the page loads.
Cookies
We use one cookie to keep you logged in and one to remember that a family has already answered a survey. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.
We email directors and coaches about their own accounts: a welcome message, coach invites, a note when a coach joins, and password resets. We don't send marketing email and we never email players or families.
Deleting data
Coaches can remove players and directors can delete teams at any time, which deletes their evaluations. To close a club's account and delete everything in it, the director can email us. Deleted data can remain in backups for a limited time until those backups are replaced.
